Adalynn is 7 weeks old now and she's beginning to smile at familiar faces and it just makes my day! This top picture was her looking at daddy one morning this week. She has such a sweet disposition and is pretty laid back, except when she's hungry, and lets the other kids kiss on her and hold her. Kambree, 7, and our neighbor were playing yesterday and they asked if they could hold the baby. They carried her to the other room and I overheard them say "Let's play daycare with her." They changed her diaper and even got her to go to sleep! (pretty impressive) Then they walked her up and down the sidewalk in her stroller. So cute! I have some great built-in babysitters! Which has been very helpful when I'm cooking or trying to squeeze in my workout.
I'm trying to get back in shape and I have a good amount of weight to lose :( I workout with all my pregnancies but I definitely slacked off the most with this one. I was so tired all the time and with moving, house hunting & unpacking my mind was always preoccupied. I LOVE to exercise and eat right. It's always been a huge stress relief for me and I have really enjoyed getting back in to my routine. I found this blog on Pinterest that gives a mommy version of CrossFit workouts. They are really short (most less than 20 minutes) but very challenging! I add 20-30 minutes of cardio after the CrossFit workout of the day. I am seeing results and feel great :) Today's workout is:
Friday 08.17.12
5 rounds of:
20 sit-ups
20 squats
20 sit-ups
20 squats
** time yourself www.calicrossfit.blogspot.com
My favorite one this week was Mondays workout:
Monday 08.13.12
4 rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
40 Push-ups
70 Sit-ups
Run 800 meters
40 Push-ups
70 Sit-ups
This one wasn't easy but I loved it and I'm going to do it again this weekend.
My pinterest board has some great at-home workouts that I occasionally encourage (or bribe!) my oldest son and husband to do with me. https://pinterest.com/erinkellyarnold/health-fitness/
I love it when we all go for a jog together as a family. I think it's SO important to teach them to exercise and stay active and the best way to do that is be an example and include them.
I have a weight loss goal for October when Adalynn turns 4 months. I know I can reach it if I stick to CrossFit and cardio. I am looking forward to cooler weather so I can push the kids in my double jogging stroller. Pushing 70 pounds can burn some major calories! But trying to get 5 kids outside, two in a stroller and three on bikes, is no easy task plus we look a little like a circus. :) I hope to get back to personal training and working with other mommies to reach their fitness goals.
I have a bit of a Pinterest addiction but it has very helpful in finding new healthy recipes. This blog is great : www.emilybites.com
She has tons of weight watcher recipes. I made this one this week. Its so easy and healthy!
MEXICAN RICE CASSEROLE
I also made these CRISPY SOUTHWEST CHICKEN WRAPS
My husband and I love them!! (different website)
And I can't wait to make these. I LOVE nutella and so do my kids :) YUM!
NUTELLA THUMBPRINTS
I have some picky eaters but I'm trying hard to find healthy recipes they like, especially with the youngest ones before they have their minds made up they don't like it. (my oldest might be the worst eater EVER & so I'm determined to do better with the other ones.) One thing we all love is CHOCOLATE! They love it almost as much as I do. Hudson & I love having Nutella on Magic Pop as a sweet treat. Here's Hudson & Trinity making brownies & cleaning the bowl :)
